chloe CHLOE

With Julianne Moore, Amanda Seyfried, Liam Neeson, Max Thieriot, Nina Dobrev, R.H. Thomson, Julie Khaner

Written by Erin Cressida Wilson (based on Anne Fontaine's movie "Nathalie")
Directed by Atom Egoyan

The fact that this movie is based on a French work is quite evident, in both its tone and subject. A doctor suspects her husband of infidelity, and calls in the assistance of a beautiful and intriguing call girl, Chloe. She wants her to see how far her husband would go before she decides on confronting him. With the marriage having lost its spark and an estranged son (still in school) having sex under their roof, things are less than harmonious in the household. During this uncomfortable and tortuous ordeal of meeting with Chloe for feedback on her mission, emotions lead to passion, but at what cost? This moody exploration of trust is a somber, but fascinating view (not lacking in moments of eroticism, verbally relayed and pictured).

PS. Reportedly Neeson had the tough task of shooting this movie while his wife Natasha Richardson was in hospital before her untimely death.
